UMAMI is a sushi restaurant located in BORG29 food hall, in Borgartún 29.

 

We only offer high quality sushi, handmade on site, only from first class ingredients. All our salmon is Icelandic farmed salmon and all our food is dairy and nut free.

What is Umami?

Umami is one of the five basic tastes along with salty, sour, sweet and bitter. The word comes from the Japanese word umai (うま味 ) which describes tasty food. Umami is characterized by a deep flavor that is often described as a variation of saltiness.


UMAMI's head chef is Axel Clausen, who was in the Icelandic national chef team and has won many awards.
